Yesterday, I was talking about Logo Trends for 2007, and now I find out Adobe has unveiled a new logo for Photoshop. I’m not feeling it. What do you think?

I’m not feeling it either, it gives no clue as to what the application actually does. Mind you neither did the old logo, how about a paint brush or at least some clue. Look at good icons, that are stylish and usable. Apple Mail for instance, looks like a stamp. iTunes features a musical note, it tells you roughly what the app does.
This simply tells you someone went overboard with a shiny speech bubble from the default shapes in photoshop!

Exactly! The name of the program is “Photo”shop so why not have a logo that indicates that in some way.

Are we sure that logo isn’t a fake?

Oh, yes, it’s for real. You can see it on the Adobe site: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/family/
